Introducing Waterproof Ratings --- IP Code

The IP Code (or International Protection Rating, sometimes also referred to as Ingress Protection Rating*) is composed of the letters IP followed by two figures and an optional letter.

The first figure shows the level of protection that the enclosure provides against access to hazardous parts (e.g., electrical conductors, moving parts) and the ingress of solid foreign objects.

The second figure indicates the protection of the equipment inside the enclosure against harmful ingress of water.

So IP54 means that protection is assured against water splashing from any angle and protection is assured against water jets projected by a nozzle (6.3mm) from any angle.

On that basis, it is not recommended to ride a scooter in rain, otherwise, it may cause water damage. According to our warranty policy, battery with a water damage will not be under warranty because it is man-made damage.
