Unleashing the KuKirin G3 Pro: Your Ultimate Off-Road Performance Scooter Review
Dec 06, 2024
Today, we're diving into an exciting KuKirin G3 Pro Performance Scooter review. This bad boy arrived at my doorstep packed like a precious artifact, thanks to double box shipping, and it was mostly pre-assembled—a huge win for us eager riders! Let's take a look at what's included in the package.
What's in the Box?
Inside the box, I found a hard-shell bag, a user manual, two keys, an Allen key set, two chargers, an air pump, and a spare inner tube. The only assembly required on your end is to attach the handlebar. Simply remove the stem cap, mount the handlebar, adjust it to your comfort level, tighten the four Allen bolts, and position the dash display.
For charging, the scooter has two charge ports situated on the right side, and it comes with two 2-amp chargers. I'll let these charge fully before taking it out for its first ride. Just a heads up, the supplied air pump doesn't have a pressure gauge, but I happen to have a few in my garage. I like to set my tires at about 33 PSI for the front and rear!
All Charged Up!
Now that the KuKirin G3 Pro is fully charged, let's go over its impressive features. This scooter is built for off-road adventures, coming equipped with 10-inch pneumatic all-terrain tires designed to perform well both on and off the pavement. It boasts full suspension with great ground clearance, much like the last KuKirin scooter I tested, the KuKirin G2 Master.
The standing platform is spacious, though the step at the back lacks a rubber lining. When I powered it on, I was pleased to find a bright LED headlight, functional front and rear turn signals, and a brake lamp, along with additional city lighting at the bottom—plenty of illumination for night rides!
Powerful Braking and Impressive Specs
For braking power, the KuKirin G3 Pro features 160 mm hydraulic disc brakes front and rear. The scooter is powered by a 52V 23Ah lithium battery located under the deck. It's removable too; just unlock it, pull up the deck, and remove the battery. If you want to double your range to nearly 100 miles, you can purchase an additional battery for around $400!
The G3 Pro is rated for 49 miles per charge; however, that seems achievable only at the slowest speed settings on single-motor mode. With the twin charge ports, dual chargers should get you from empty to full in about 5 to 6 hours. As for power, it has dual 1200W hub motors, providing a whopping 2400W total output and a top speed of 40 mph!
Dashboard Features
Let's take a closer look at the dash display. It shows the current-voltage (58.3 volts, confirming a full charge) and allows you to switch from single to dual motor mode easily. The button layout is intuitive, with turn signals, a horn (labeled as a loudspeaker), a headlight toggle, and the throttle clearly defined.
It ships with the speedometer in kilometers per hour (km/h), but you can switch it to miles per hour (mph) through the P settings. Just hold the power button to access those options!
Let's Ride!
Now that the overview is done, let's take the KuKirin G3 Pro out for its first ride! I'll start by testing the speedometer accuracy, beginning in dual motor mode. The speedometer initially showed 14 mph, then clocked in at 39 mph during a top-speed run—impressive power!
It's got fantastic torque; you can feel it when starting from a stop. The off-road traction is solid, thanks to those all-terrain tires, which perform beautifully on bumpy gravel and loose surfaces.
I was pleasantly surprised by the scooter's ruggedness. With an IP54 waterproof rating, I didn't hesitate to ride through puddles. While the battery consumption is noticeable after riding hard (down to 54.7 volts after just 3.67 miles), I expect longer ranges if cruising at slower speeds.
